Welcome to EasyWatt. By accessing or using our website and services at easywatt.app and ai.easywatt.app (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Service Description
EasyWatt is a free electricity plan comparison and recommendation tool. We help residents in deregulated electricity markets compare plans, estimate costs, and find plans that match their usage patterns. Our service is currently available in Texas, with plans to expand to additional states. EasyWatt is NOT an electricity provider, retail electric provider (REP), or energy broker. We do NOT sell electricity or enter into electricity supply contracts.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and have the authority to make energy purchasing decisions for your household or business to use this Service.
3. Data Sources and Accuracy
Electricity plan data is sourced from PowerToChoose.org, the official plan comparison site operated by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT). Municipal utility rate data is sourced from the U.S. Department of Energy's OpenEI database and verified against official utility rate schedules.
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any plan data, rate information, or cost estimates. Plans, rates, and terms are subject to change by electricity providers at any time without notice to us.
You should always verify plan details, rates, fees, and terms directly with the electricity provider before enrolling.
4. Cost Estimates
EasyWatt provides estimated annual and monthly electricity costs based on your usage data (uploaded bill) or AI-generated usage predictions (based on your home profile and similar households). These are estimates only and may differ from your actual costs due to variations in usage, seasonal changes, rate adjustments, taxes, fees, and other factors.
We do not guarantee any specific savings or cost outcomes.
5. AI-Generated Content
EasyWatt uses proprietary AI technology - including custom-trained models and intelligent matching algorithms - to predict usage patterns, analyze plans, and generate personalized recommendations. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes and should not be considered professional financial or energy advice. Recommendations are personalized to your home profile and usage patterns but are not guarantees of savings.
6. Electricity Providers
When you choose to enroll in an electricity plan, you are transacting directly with the electricity provider. EasyWatt is NOT a party to any agreement between you and an electricity provider. We are NOT responsible for the products, services, terms, or practices of any electricity provider.
We may share your information with electricity providers and their representatives as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Bill Uploads
If you upload an electricity bill, you represent that you are authorized to share that document. We process uploaded bills to extract usage data for plan comparison.
8. Municipal Utility Information
For areas served by municipal utilities (such as Austin Energy or CPS Energy), we provide rate information sourced from public databases. Municipal rates are approximate and may not reflect the most current rates, surcharges, or adjustments. We provide links to official utility rate pages for verification.
9. Free Service
EasyWatt is currently provided free of charge to consumers. There are no hidden fees, subscriptions, or obligations. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
10. Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EASYWATT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FROM INACCURATE PLAN DATA, INCORRECT COST ESTIMATES, OR ENROLLMENT DECISIONS MADE BASED ON OUR RECOMMENDATIONS.
11. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service (including text, graphics, logos, and software) are owned by EasyWatt and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written consent.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the Terms were last revised.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
